The Mahle ASE 18 000P air conditioning pressure switch is a high-quality sensor that controls the operation of the air conditioning system in vehicles. It monitors the high pressure of the refrigerant; if the permissible value is exceeded, it shuts down the compressor to protect it and other components from damage.
Product Specification:
- Type: Air Conditioning Pressure Switch
- Manufacturer: Mahle
- Model: ASE 18 000P
- Thread Size: 7/16"-20 UNF
- Thread Type: Internal
- Compatibility: Seat, Skoda, VW, Porsche
Key Features:
- Protects the air conditioning compressor from operation at excessively high refrigerant pressures.
- Three contacts provide accurate signals to the air conditioning control system.
- Standard thread ensures compatibility with many VAG group vehicle models.
- Robust construction from premium manufacturer Mahle ensures durability and reliability.
Questions and Answers:
- Does this switch fit my car? If your vehicle uses a sensor with a 7/16-20 UNF thread, 3 pins, and corresponds to an OEM number (e.g., 1J0959126 or its variants), this model will fit.
- Does it require refrigerant to be drained? In most cases, yes – the system should be safely evacuated or isolated according to service procedures before removing the switch.
- How does this switch work? Under normal pressure (below 37 bar), the system operates freely. Once this value is exceeded, the switch closes the circuit, signaling overload and shutting down the compressor to prevent damage.
